What was studied
A meta-analysis of 13 randomised controlled trials (1,126 participants, healthy and with various health conditions), and a small crossover trial in 17 healthy volunteers who took 100 or 300 mg a day for 8 days.
Amount studied
100–300 mg/day
Under review
100 mg matches the lower dose tested in the crossover trial; there, the effects were seen with 300 mg. The meta-analysis found larger effects at higher daily doses.
What was found
In the meta-analysis, CoQ10 reduced fatigue scores compared with placebo, with larger reductions at higher daily doses and longer durations. In the crossover trial, the effects on fatigue and performance during an exercise task were seen with 300 mg.
